The Meat Kitchen is a family business, set up and run by husband and wife team Tommy & Claudia Eagle and brother Selwyn Eagle.
They've all worked extensively in the catering industry for many years and saw the need for a mobile catering van that is wholly dedicated to supplying the public with meat that is happily reared, local and above all TASTY! Luckily we live in beautiful Herefordshire that has an abundance of high quality food producers.
Tommy Eagle has worked in hospitality since he was a teenager; from restaurants and cafe-bars in Hay-on-Wye and Hereford, running hotel bars in in London to managing the entire set of bars on cruise ships around the Americas, he knows his onions! With the Meat Kitchen he wants to develop his passion to improve the quality of 'fast' food for everyone.
Claudia Eagle is originally from Peru and met Tommy while working on the cruise ships. She still helps out in the family restaurant on her visits back home, but now married to Tommy, she's the brains behind our delicious Specialised Festival and Event Menu. Her menu varies according to the type of event or festival, but it's always guaranteed to be tasty.
Our Meat & Drinks
All of the meat in our steak baguettes, burgers and sausages come from local farms in the Hereford area and is collected by us from our local butcher. We know exactly where all these meats come from and are happy that the animals have the best standard of living possible.
Our bacon is from UK farms ONLY so they have the higher standard of living that not all European pigs enjoy and our eggs free-range and from another local farm.
Our tea and coffee is fair trade.
Because we use locally sourced products we are able to minimise our carbon footprint on transport. All of our packaging is recyclable and where possible made from recycled products.
Health and Safety
We are proud to have been awarded a 4 Star rating by our Environmental Health Agency.
This takes into account our commitment to stringent health and safety practices within the food preparation and service area. Our unit operates a strict cleaning and review procedure coupled with quality appliances. We are all qualified and trained with certification in food preparation and hygiene.
